Claimed 2007 British Amateur at Royal Lytham and St. Annes, ending a 28-year American drought
Competed in the 2007 and 2008 U.S. Amateurs, and 2008 Masters
Also played in the 2007 British Open at Carnoustie (missed cut by two shots)
British Amateur triumph came nearly two months after a campus tragedy where 32 people were killed by an outraged student; it was the deadliest shooting in American history
Weaver was just 100 yards away when Cho Seung-Hui opened fire; he ran 400 yards to cover in the library, waiting 3½ hours before finally leaving
